Jiro Togashi

A native of Tokyo, Jiro grew up loving to learn and draw.  Fascinated by the human mind, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology before moving to the United States to pursue a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.  Professionally, he enjoyed successful careers in both Landscape Architecture and Information Technology.

Jiro integrates his art and computer backgrounds by creating and teaching digital art using Photoshop, Clip Studio, and AutoCAD. He also recently combined his interests in art and psychology by becoming a licensed color therapist. Jiro welcomes any and all to Tenpo Gallery who seek solace through art, color, and empathy.

Källén Togashi

Källén grew up in the US city of New Orleans which is known for its rich musical, cultural heritage, and its quirky charm.  From an early age, music was her passion.  Källén enjoyed a 30-year career as an orchestral flutist performing with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Pacific Symphony Orchestra, and Israel Philharmonic. She also served on the music faculty of the University of California, Riverside.

In addition to curating Tenpo Gallery’s collection and programs, Källén has supported the Japan’s arts communities through volunteering at the Hongo Shin Memorial Museum of Sculpture and lending her voice to various film and television English language voiceover projects.

Raising Julian was the joy of Jiro and Källén’s lives.  Following Julian’s death, they returned to Japan - to the beautiful, far-northern island of Hokkaido.  Källén has been exploring her creativity through the collaborative art of creating unique digital images from photographs taken by Julian. Jiro has been creating his own original digital art while actively pursuing certification in arts therapy.  We are always excited to feature other artists whose work complements Tenpo Gallery’s collection. We look forward to visits from community artists and art lovers.
